As we head into a new year BEYOND takes a look back at some of our unique events we worked on throughout 2017. This year we enjoyed working with new clients, taking on new challenges and working on some of our favorite events from past years. One of our first events of the year last January was the ONE Night event with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas . For the ONE Night event at SMU McFarlin Auditorium BEYOND provided event production with lighting, audio-visual and video design. Below is our recap video of the event and we cannot wait for this month’s ONE Night event with Howie Mandel.

One of the events we have worked on for the past few years is the UNICEF Children First event which took place this last year at 6500 Cedar Springs. BEYOND has collaborated  on UNICEF’s Children’s First event since their inaugural one in Dallas in 2015, partnering with Mathes and Co, and then later the  First Agency team joined, by providing lighting and audio-visualThis includes uplighting on the outside of the venue, a gobo of the UNICEF logo projected on the outside of the building, lighting inside the venue including stage lighting, washes, pinspots and uplighting. We provide a full sound system as well as a screens and projectors for the visual design.

Another event we have worked on for several years is the Annual Hockaday Gala with Mathes and Co. We always love doing this event because each year has a unique theme and we love coming up with ways to enhance the theme with our lighting and audio visual design. For this year’s Explore benefit a few of the unique elements included projections of a continuum style pattern projection and nature sounds played as guest entered. Each year we set up and rig a full audio visual system in their school gym including speakers and projection screens and projectors.

This past year was our second time to work on the Nasher Prize Gala for their second annual event honoring contemporary sculpture. The artist honored in 2017 used various natural elements in their work and to mimic the feel of his works BEYOND provided washes of green gelled light to create a mood of the event along with patterned lights on the pathway and washes of the prize, bars and entertainment. Along with lighting BEYOND had our full audio system throughout the tent and provided visual design with our TV Monitors and projecting onto a video wall.

While We do several events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area BEYOND does travel for events. A fun one we did was this past fall in Amarillo for a tented wedding reception on a private residence with Julian Leaver. For this tented lighting design BEYOND had a controlled wash of the tent, uplighting for the trees and cross spots of the floral on the guest tables.

One last event that stands out this past year working on the Jubilee Park 20th Anniversary celebration. BEYOND produced a video showcasing the mission of Jubilee Park and what they have accomplished as well where they hope to go in the future. One unique element that was brought to the video was using the children of Jubilee Park’s drawings and animated them for the video. The video was then shown at the Jubilee Park celebration at the Omni Dallas where BEYOND had lighting and audio visual design for the event including full audio system, projection screens, projectors,  uplighting and stage lighting.
